Our online lives

On my way to create the MeetUP SpeakUP blog I realized the huge amount of logins, passwords and profiles I have created so far. Considering that the Internet is yet on its way to adulthood (it is only 18 years old) it seems rather obvious that sooner or later some corporation would do the job of gathering everything to be controlled by a single account and free our tired minds from memorizing hundreds of digits. And so they did. *Thank you, Google.* Still there are plenty of possibilities to occupy, help or spoil one's life. And more arise almost every day. Thinking of that, I was wondering how do people keep their online lives updated? Do you like to look for new gadgets or you just wait for something to become noticeable to join in? Which of these webpages do you already know or have an account in already?

Orkut, Skoob, Youtube, Wikispaces, Flickr, Wikitree, IGoogle, Blogspot, Wordpress, Skype, Messenger, Launchcast, MYSpace, Twitter, LastFM, Facebook, Allmusic, Allmovie, IMDB, Habbo...

These are only a few I've quickly collected. Do you know more? Share it, it may be helpful, but mind!, let's not get someone a new addiction. =P

  1. what a nice initiative! i believe that we currently have divided our time between the virtual and real life, each one has to decide whether his virtual life will complement the real or be 'parallel' to it. the internet is a great way to update us on what has happened around the world but, like everything in life, can become dangerous if not well conducted. answering the question, i know almost all webpages listed above, and have accounts on orkut, messenger and changed myspace by twitter. ;)

  2. Cachos, i'm glad you're a net-freak! I'd get to know all of those if I had as much stuff to write about. But as I was watching Berttoni's hardworking attempt to present us with this cool looking blog, I noticed it would take so much of my time to make up my own that I'd rather read someone else's!!! But, hey, congrats for the blog. We are sure to have a good time this Saturday ^^v

If you are readng this, COME COME COME :) :) :)

    Cheers!

Now, we have the whole Earth in our hands,we are real citzens of the world! hahaha. Just like Thiago said : IF YOU'RE READING THIS, COME, COME , COME!

  5. Great! I'm sure this blog will be a nice way to brush up our English and, like Juliana said, to get in touch with my MeetUP friends. My online life? I wouldn't know to live without Internet any more: I work, I have class, I get in touch with my friends, etc. But it's true that the face-to-face relationship is unreplaceable! so "IF YOU'RE READING THIS, COME, COME, COME!" :-) See you next Saturday!

  6. Nowadays, it is indeed necessary to be on-line everyday so we can keep ourselves updated about work, friends and world's issues, but phone calls have been replaced by messenger and people's privacy is no longer a right, but a concession, since we have Orkut.
I'm sure next saturday there will be a looong talk about this topic, once everyone of us probably has an active on-line life.
    Have fun you guys!

PS: I'm on Orkut, Messenger, Facebook, IMDB and Youtube. Oh sh*t, that's too much, isn't it? :p
